The Art Ball

With its origins in SOHO, once the art center of Manhattan, SkinCareLab has always understood the benefit of incorporating art and design to create a healing environment.

Similarly, ART RX, a non-profit organization, was created to place art into institutional healthcare facilities to create more healing, soothing and beautiful environments. These efforts help to relieve the stress and anxiety of patients and families when visiting hospitals for treatment. A few of these projects include installations at Schneider Children's Hospital of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Rockefeller University.

Art Rx was created in 2000 by Diane Brown, a leading gallerist and curator whose galleries in Washington DC and Manhattan exhibited some of the world’s top artists. Even before embarking on a career in the art world, she had a keen interest in medicine as a Pre-Med student.

Each year ART RX hosts an Art Ball where they raise crucial funds for their cause. This year, on November 3 at Splashlight Studios, ART RX has invited some of the world’s top contemporary artists to work on 8”x8” primed canvases. Some notable participants will include Jonathan Adler, Yoko Ono, and William Wegman. These works will be available for purchase through a silent auction at the event. Proceeds will go to Art Rx.

This yearly event is the first to usher in the holiday season and is always a great time for an amazing cause. We look forward to seeing you there.
